VIGIL
|
|
Shall
we sit here and watch the dawn,
Fair Eos,
mother rosy pale,
Or did I catch the faintest yawn?
Base knight that holdest sleep in pawn,
And
would’st not wake to see the Grail,
|
5 |
| Shall
we sit here and watch the dawn?
Upon me dost thou dare to fawn,
In vigil
vow thou did’st not quail—
Or did I catch the faintest yawn?
The foam is fair as whitest lawn,
|

The
moonbeams leave a silver trail,
Shall we sit here and watch the dawn?
Or like the fashionable spawn,
Deem
lonely skies of no avail—
Did I not catch the faintest yawn?
|

Soon will the moon have soft withdrawn,
E'en now
the stars begin to fail,
Shall we sit here and watch the dawn,
Or did I catch the faintest yawn? |
